Job Description
Sesame Workshop is looking for a Freelance Human Resources Assistant. The Human Resources Assistant will perform general administrative duties for the department and will assist the HR Coordinator and HR Managers with activities related to on boarding, benefits administration, employee activities and systems & records maintenance.

Responsibilities:
• Maintains personnel files, HR records, and HR systems
• Gathers information and prepares employee rosters, as needed
• Assists with paperwork and processing for onboarding, orientation and terminations for staff and Variable Hour Employees (VHE)
• Completes reference checks, employment verification requests and background checks using E-Verify and outside vendors
• Assists with department vendor contracts and invoice processing and tracking as needed
• Assists with processing staff benefits and audits employee records
• Supports HR team with delivering employee events
• Fields general employee inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner
• Supports annual HR processes
• Supports department administrative duties and ad hoc projects

Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of HR or administrative experience preferred
• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other HR-related majors preferred
• Expected regular work schedule of 5 days (35 hours) per week with overtime eligibility
