Technical Project Manager (Online Services) - Rocket League

What You'll Do

The Online Services team at Psyonix is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee the team's overall operation and development schedule, as well as to manage certain tech projects & initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience working with software engineers in a collaborative environment, has experience with a live online product, and can thrive confronting complex and ambiguous challenges. This individual must combine an appetite for technical nuance with the soft skills needed to facilitate healthy communication and meaningful progress toward goals.

In This Role You Will
• Oversee team operations, emphasizing developer efficiency, effective inter- and intra-team communication, continuous process improvement, and general team health
• Manage the team's development schedule, including ownership of the team's Jira projects and workflows, driving sprint planning and other scheduling meetings, interfacing with production/leadership/legal/other tech teams/partners to maintain a balance of perspectives/priorities in our planning process
• Understand and adapt industry best practices (SDLC, SRE, Agile, etc.) to our team and studio, always collaborating with team members to aid buy-in
• Own the prioritization, accuracy, and tidiness of our various team tools - including Jira, Confluence, spreadsheets, etc.
• Assist with processes, communication, and coordination relating to operating games as live services - including on-call operations, live game operations, and incident response
• Shepherd a wide variety of Online-related projects and initiatives through a healthy end-to-end development cycle - from a collaborative and iterative design phase through testing in coordination with Psyonix QA through live monitoring
• Collect/organize resource allocation data to help us identify bottlenecks and areas we can be more efficient

What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of production or project/product management experience
• Prior experience in software or video game development
• Self-auditor with superior professional habits and time management skills
• Self-starter able to drive projects to completion
• Creative thinker who proactively identifies problems to solve on their own
• Natural interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Adept with Excel/Google Sheets
• Passionate about tech or video games… or both!

Nice To Have Skills
• Strong familiarity with Rocket League
• Familiarity with databases (SQL or no-SQL)
• Prior experience in coding/engineering/data analysis
• Worked on a live game
