Publicity & Marketing Assistant – WaterBrook and Multnomah

WaterBrook and Multnomah, imprints of the Random House Publishing Group, are seeking a Publicity and Marketing Assistant to join our publishing program focused on books for the Christian market, including nonfiction, Bible studies, fiction, children's, and creative gift product. This role will report to the VP, Publicity Director and VP, Marketing Director. The assistant will spend 75% of the time providing administrative support to the publicity team and 25% of the time supporting the marketing team.

WaterBrook and Multnomah works with a deep list of bestselling and award-winning authors such Tim Tebow, Jennie Allen, Michael Todd, John Mark Comer, Latasha Morrison, Jordan Lee Dooley, Mark Batterson, Jon Tyson, Francine Rivers, Lisa Tawn Bergren, Dorena Williamson, and many more. In addition, WaterBrook publishes Ink & Willow, a line of creative product.

This role provides an intensive education in Christian book publishing in a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive environment with a team of dedicated publishing professionals. The assistant will have opportunity to work with a variety of authors and contribute to marketing/publicity campaigns.

In this role you will
• Provide general administrative support, including mailings, creating reports, processing invoices, billings, information tracking, and data entry
• Strategize with internal teams and help execute campaigns in a variety of genres
• Communicate between the Editorial, Sales, and Production departments

Publicity Responsibilities:
• Creating detailed interview itineraries/tour schedules for publicity campaigns and coordinating travel and other arrangements for major author tours
• Drafting and copyediting press materials, including press releases, pitch and galley letters, author bios, Q&As, social media posts, etc.
• Developing media lists
• Coordinating media mailings and fulfilling review copy requests
• Tracking, reporting, and archiving media hits
• Responding to e-mails and calls from media, authors, and booksellers
• Scheduling interviews for assigned authors

Marketing Responsibilities
• Organizing and processing purchase orders and invoices and tracking payments
• Coordinating influencer mailings
• Monitoring general inboxes and distributing information/inquiries
• Creating readers guides
• Overseeing cover copy process
• Coordinating author questionnaires in conjunction with editorial

With this in mind, to be successful in this role we feel that you'll need to have:
• Genuine interest in publicity and marketing, especially for Christian books
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate well, both written and orally
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills, initiative, and creativity
• Computer skills-proficiency in MS, Excel, Outlook
• Adept at learning new computer-based programs and social media platforms
• Keen attention to detail

The WaterBrook and Multnomah office located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position is open to remote candidates.
