Data Engineer - Fully Remote

Job Description

We are a diverse team that works in an exciting environment, partnering with multiple technology teams to ensure we deliver data insights and add a constant value to Paramount data. This role is fully remote!

You Will:
• Design and develop highly scalable and reliable data engineering pipelines to process large volumes of data across many data sources in the cloud
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements by automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery
• Develop and promote best practices in data engineering
• Partner with the internal product and business intelligence teams to determine the best approach around data ingestion, structure, and storage and work with the team to ensure these are implemented correctly
• Develop a process to capture different data points required for a reliable data quality system

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum of 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience with Cloud platforms
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Strong proficiency in SQL
• You have experience building and deploying DAGs to Airflow 2
• You have experience containerizing python apps with Docker
• Independent problem - solver with strong critical thinking skills
• Experience designing and deploying automated testing for data pipelines
• Ability to write complex SQL to perform common types of analysis and aggregations
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of Application Programming Interfaces
• Proven ability to clearly communicate complex solutions and document the solutions
• Experience developing solutions to business requirements via hands-on discovery and exploration of data
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, as well as translating business requirements into Data Solutions

Phenomenal Plusses -

• Experience with Google cloud services like Google Dataflow, Google BigQuery, PubSub, Apache airflow or similar
• Experience creating and orchestrating containerized instances of code (via Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes))).
• Familiar with version control systems (Git and Bitbucket)
• Familiar with Atlassian products Jira and Confluence
• Familiar with Apache Beam
• Familiar with Databricks
