Overview and Responsibilities

Paramount is seeking a passionate and creative privacy lawyer. This candidate will assist with a broad range of global privacy legal matters, with a focus on employee and workplace privacy. The role involves advising internal clients on the various legal risks, obligations, and other privacy compliance issues. This Counsel will play a key role on the team that envisions, designs, develops and implements a pragmatic data privacy and data protection program. The position requires an innovative, forward-thinking and determined individual with a passion to tackle complex problems in a creative and pragmatic way and to translate laws and regulations into concrete policies and procedures that enable business objectives.
• Partnering with the Employment law group and HR team, supporting the organization on a variety of Privacy HR/Workplace matters.
• Support the development, implementation and management of the Privacy HR/Workplace programs and processes in the US and globally (including, but not limited to, policies and procedures; standards; guidelines; and tools).
• Monitor global privacy developments and Paramount adherence to privacy controls and compliance requirements for business units that collect and process data.
• Document and implement controls in compliance with global privacy regulations in coordination with other key members of the Privacy Group and the legal department.
• Develop and disseminate policies and guidance for Paramount entities and digital properties that collect and process consumer data.
• Conduct training and awareness activities with business units and the Law Department.

Basic Qualifications
• Law degree (JD) with excellent academic credentials and US Bar Certification.
• IAPP Certifications CIPP/US, other IAPP certification a plus.
• At least 2 years' experience in the privacy profession and knowledge of global privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA and COPPA.
• Experience with privacy laws and regulations relative to workplace privacy.

• Ability to balance multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize workload efficiently, and meet strict deadlines.
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters and collaborate with various teams and divisions.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team.
