We deliver streaming and interactive learning content that helps young kids develop skills, knowledge, and passions through play with the characters they love. The Senior Researcher, Preschool Learning Content works with internal and external stakeholders to develop compelling and evidence-informed learning content for young children. The Senior Researcher conducts usability testing on linear and digital interactive experiences during various phases of content build and provides ongoing recommendations on how to quickly improve the product on an iterative basis. This person plays a key role in (1) developing Noggin's playtesting protocols with an instructional and design focus, (2) helping the Noggin content and learning teams propel Noggin's learning goals, and (3) helping Noggin deliver content to a large, growing and diverse audience. The Senior Researcher will be a critical part of promoting children's high engagement with content and personalized learning trajectories.

This role reports to the Director of Learning Insights and Design, Noggin.

Responsibilities:
• Use and adapt evidence-based, developmentally appropriate research methods to test Noggin content with young children and their parents
• Translate learning briefs into ''playtesting'' protocols to inform iterative content development from concepting and scripting to the end user experience
• Test individual pieces of content and content sets to ensure they can meet the needs of children as their understanding of skills and concepts grow; assess effectiveness of user interface for children's learning
• Implement and adapt research and playtesting approaches on supplementary content development and resources (i.e., parent-child co-play activities, educator use)
• Liaise with peers across content and research teams to share, document, and implement best playtesting practices. Present research in brief reports to internal teams
• Manage recruitment and research vendor relationships
• Collaborate with the team to ensure learning designs advance diversity, equity, and inclusion goals across content and audience development

Basic Qualification:
• 3+ years of professional experience in education, research, and interactive learning design
• Experience with creating effective curriculum and standards-based media design and/or technology products
• Substantive expertise in early childhood development, teaching, research, and evidence-based learning practices
• Substantive experience with qualitative research (In-depth Interviewing and focus group moderation) and working directly with preschool children in an educational or research setting
• Ability to translate learning expertise to digital and video content development clearly and effectively, especially to multi-disciplinary internal teams
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in education, child development, research and/or learning design preferred
