Are you the type that isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty?

If so CBS Sports is looking for an expert Director of Software Engineering for our video engineering team. You will be an integral part of supporting the entire spectrum of CBS Sports video products and streaming platforms. To be successful at this job, you need to bring a superb leadership ability, strong technical experience and an excellent work ethic.

Your-Day-to-Day:
• Lead multiple development teams passionate about front-end video applications, back-end APIs and streaming infrastructure
• Architect and design full-stack video solutions across the broader Paramount Global streaming ecosystem
• Work with vendors and partners in order to evaluate new technologies and drive multiple initiatives to success simultaneously
• Build and maintain relationships with a diverse set of partners, including product owners, ad operations teams, external vendors, and executives
• Evangelize the implementation of engineering standard methodologies and build a winning culture
• Mentor and grow engineers while keeping them engaged and passionate about the product and company vision

Qualifications:

What you bring to the team:
• 3+ years experience leading and establishing teams of engineers in a management position
• Excellent understanding of various OTT platforms and their underlying technologies (Roku/AppleTV/FireTV)
• Strong knowledge of streaming video technologies eg: HLS/DASH; various multimedia transport protocols such as: RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP, Zixi
• Experience building AWS media services and technologies such as: MediaLive, MediaPackage, MediaTailor, Lambda, dynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Cloudwatch
• Experience with React, Javascript, NodeJS or Python frameworks
• Good understanding of data caching strategies and working knowledge of CDNs (Akamai, CloudFront, Fastly)
• Familiarity with Digital Rights Management Systems (DRM), including Playready, Widevine & FairPlay
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
