Producer - Part-Time

Do you love to write? Instead of one good story, would you rather put together on great show? WLNS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Lansing, Michigan, has the perfect job for you.

We want someone with superior writing skills: someone who can tell stories in a clear and compelling way. We also want someone who can think visually and can help craft a show instead of stacking one story on top of another.

This job will involve producing weekend shows.

We are the state capital. We also have a Big Ten university and two General Motors plants. Because of that, we've got more news, sports, arts, and culture than markets much bigger than ours.

Skills:
• Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
• Superior writing skills to tell stories in a clear and compelling way
• Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts

Requirements & Skills:
• A degree or expected degree in Journalism or a related field is required. Newsroom experience (even in the form of an internship) is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift
