LOCATION: WHO 13 Des Moines, IA POSTING DATE: 4/8/2022- 4/30/2022
POSITION: Part-time Newscast Producer REPORTS TO: News Director
PURPOSE/REASON FOR THE POSITION: Produce weekend newscasts and gather information for news stories for WHO 13, WHO 13 News at 9:00 on FOX17 and www.WHO13.com.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB:
• Ability to produce weekday newscasts.
• Ability to write television news stories.
• Ability to read newspaper and wire service information.
• Ability to handle live breaking news.
• Ability to handle deadline pressure.
• Ability to give directions to anchors, reporters, photographers and directors.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Valid drivers license
Computer literate
2 years television newsroom experience
2 years news producing experience preferred
4-year college degree preferred
Work under extreme pressure, deadlines and adverse weather conditions.
Desk work, walking and standing
