Director Of Engineering- Special Projects

Job Description

Nexstar Media Group is seeking a Director of Engineering – Special Projects. Reporting to the VP Station Operations, this position will develop, manage, install and document projects across a broad range of broadcast television systems.

These systems include field cameras, editing, ENG/SNG/CNG equipment, audio/video production, etc. This position will also be responsible for selecting, planning, designing and managing the installation of broadcast systems, managing associated capital budgets, establishing operating procedures, and managing the training of personnel using the systems listed. Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the television industry with solid engineering and troubleshooting skills.
• A degree in Engineering, Broadcast, or IT related field is preferred.
• Prior management skills, similar position held and/or training experience is highly desired.
• Working knowledge of the following technologies: HD-SDI, Autocad, Wirecad, Smartsheet, video production, news production, file-based workflows, wired and wireless networking, and RF systems.
• Strong organizational, written communications, and interpersonal skills required.
• Must be willing to travel on a regular basis.
