Job Description
The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, seeks an Associate Producer, Social Video to monitor live events, clip videos, and compose posts/tweets for The Hill's various social media platforms. The ideal candidate will also help with writing SEO friendly headlines, choosing art for videos, and suggesting ways to enhance The Hill's social presence.

The Associate Producer will report to the Supervising Producer, News Video, and work with our team of video producers to grow our audience on social media.
• Roles & Responsibilities:
• Monitoring live events, such as Congressional hearings, press conferences, etc.
• Cut clips, edit in Premiere, and post to our various social media channels
• Choose art and create compelling thumbnails for each video
• Make good decisions quickly and execute ideas against high-pressure deadlines
• Complement the packaging of existing stories with video or other social media enhancements
• Write search-engine- friendly headlines, copy, and descriptions for these videos

Skills & Qualifications:
• Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite , specifically Premiere and Photoshop (bonus if you are comfortable with After Effects)
• Demonstrated experience writing compelling headlines, teases, or graphic copy
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy, passionate about ''getting it right''
• Able to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
• Highly resourceful team player, also able to be extremely effective independently
• Ideal applicant s will have journalism experience as well as deep knowledge of the biggest newsmakers in politics and hottest topics on social media.
• Minimum one year of experience in a newsroom
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, television production, or equivalent experience
• Comfortable working irregular hours : nights and weekends as necessary for video coverage
