Senior Financial Analyst

Job Description

NewsNation is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and passionate Senior Financial Analyst for the Network Segment with primary focus on NewsNation, Multicast, and WGN-Radio business units. As a financial analyst at Nexstar, you will be responsible for budgeting and forecasting, reporting, and critically analyzing revenue and expenses. This position will also work with others segments to support operation and strategic planning activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards of financial results, key performance indicators, and external benchmarks to support the executive team
• Support the annual budgeting process and monthly forecast updates for the Networks segment. This includes independently analyzing financials as well as working with department heads to explain, review, and finalize all projections
• Leverage new systems to automate the compilation and distribution of financial results and coordinate the budget/forecast process
• Prepare ad hoc financial models and analyses of business investment opportunities. Communicate results and recommendations to senior management
• Participate in various ad-hoc projects – these projects will provide excellent cross-functional exposure and will help the financial analyst develop strong business acumen and grow within the organization

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or business-related field
• Minimum 3 years in a corporate finance environment. Media experience highly desirable
• Previous experience with Workday, Prophix, and Wide Orbit highly desirable
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Excellent critical thinking, creative problem solving, and organization skills
• Must have the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
