NewsNation Editing Supervisor:

NewsNation is searching for an Editing Supervisor to oversee our editing team and support the evolution and innovation of our editing process. The role is essential to ensuring a smooth editing process so that the content produced meets NewsNation's journalistic, ethical, technical, and creative standards. The Editing Supervisor also ensures timely delivery of accurate, compelling, creative, and technically superior material. The Editing Supervisor will report to the Managers of Broadcast Operations

Primary Responsibilities:
-Supervise a team of editors who work across dayparts and shows for growing cable news network
-Coordinate the daily assignments of editors to ensure appropriate workflow for daily show needs and special projects
-Assist in development of editing style guide and best practices
-Ability to edit news in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure
-Review material and offer creative and technical guidance to improve the editing process
-Provide feedback, guidance, mentoring in support of continued growth and development of editors
-Maintain familiarity with editing technologies and processes and recommend changes as needed
-Train and onboard new editors
-Work to source and maintain pipeline of freelance editors

Qualifications:
-Minimum five years of experience in production and post-production roles
-A significant background in video editing required
-Must be proficient with Adobe Premiere
-Knowledge of Latakoo, BitCentral preferred
-Experience with ongoing training and development of staff
-Degree in communications preferred or related experience
-Ability to meet demanding news deadlines on a consistent basis
-Good communications skills with sound editorial judgement
