Responsibilities

The Senior Vice President of Marketing will partner with multiple sports leagues, network heads, ad sales, and integrated marketing teams to plan and execute client-focused marketing efforts for NBCUniversal Sports Advertising Sales designed to drive revenue across the portfolio.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Deliver best-in-class integrated opportunities for clients across platforms.
• Differentiate Sports, Golf and Olympic assets in the marketplace.
• Capitalize on custom content development.
• Provide in-house agency services to the ad sales teams.
• Lead in the creation of multiplatform marketing opportunities via customized programs leveraging the NBC Sports portfolio.
• Drive incremental revenue by applying the most creative thinking to key Sales targets.
• Collaborate with Sales, Programming, Production, Consumer Marketing, and Creative Services to create added-value opportunities and communicate NBC Sports Group initiatives to the broader Sales organization
• Work extensively with Sales Management to strategize sales approach whereby marketing will play a vital role in maintaining, growing, and winning business to achieve revenue expectations.
• Leverage the line of sight into Olympics, Sports, and Golf to create cross-sport opportunities to grow revenue.
• Partner with One Platform Marketing in a both a pro-active and RFP response format to provide unique ideation to augment the NBCU Portfolio offerings.
• Work with all NBCU internal and external customers to expand active participation within various new initiatives including Peacock, eCommerce, Global, Local, Legalized Sports Betting, Telemundo Sports, Podcasting, TikTok and leveraging all NBCU Talent.
• Evaluate both the qualitative and quantitative performance of marketing platforms via partnership with the numerous Research resources within the organization.
• Lead big idea generation for all platforms which includes discussion with editorial and production regularly to ensure concept feasibility and delivery.
• Manage a 30+ person organization with a keen eye toward career development via constant feedback and on-going mentorship. Additionally, work with HR to periodically evaluate performance via various Talent and/or Succession-type initiatives.

Qualifications/Requirements
• 15+ years of experience in advertising sales marketing, with a least 10+ years of experience working in the sports industry.
• 5+ years successfully managing broadcast or cable network cross platform and/or sales promotion teams.
• BA/BS or equivalent experience.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Desired Characteristics
• Ability to supervise, develop and motivate a team consisting of marketing, operational, and creative staff.
• Established network of agency and client relationships preferred.
• Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written).
• Excellent executive-level presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
