Reporting to: Senior Legal Counsel, NBCUniversal International Networks & DTC (London).

ABOUT US

Corporate Legal Affairs serves as primary counsel for various internal corporate functions, such as Sourcing, Operations & Technology and Real Estate. CLA also serves as a ''centre of excellence'' for transactional and contracting matters and legal entity governance on an enterprise-wide basis.
NBCUniversal International Networks & DTC is the international entertainment channels group of NBCUniversal. Our head office is based in London and is responsible for a range of TV channels distributed throughout Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Latin America under the Syfy, Universal TV, E!, 13th Street, Studio Universal, Movies 24 and Diva channel brands as well as direct-to-consumer offerings such as Peacock and Hayu.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

⦁ Day-to-day negotiation and drafting of agreements for the international requirements of the CLA team (based in New York) with clear communication and proactive progression of open matters;
⦁ Providing support for the Content & Operations and the Affiliate & Ad Sales legal teams in relation to the operation of NBCU's channel and DTC business, covering such areas as content acquisition, media operations, marketing and research;
⦁ Working as directed or supervised by, and attending regular catch-ups with the Senior Legal Counsel and keeping them apprised of current work and priorities;
⦁ Advising internal clients on new business propositions, undertaking legal research and advising senior management across different business areas;
⦁ Professional Support Lawyer advice and assistance on range of matters relating to NBCU's enterprise-wide operations in multiple jurisdictions;
⦁ Identifying and responding promptly to clients' legal and business affairs needs; and
⦁ Ad hoc tasks as may be required.
Optional: About You

⦁ Preferred experience: (i) familiarity with corporate sourcing MSAs and SoWs; (ii) technical operations and/or content acquisitions and/or channel distribution work for a tv channels business; (iii) good understanding of 'soft' IP rights in relation to the business (copyright; trademarks).
⦁ Desired: (i) understanding of legal principles and ability to apply these to novel situations (critical thinking); (ii) ability to cope with high volume workload under time pressure to a high professional standard; and (iii) ability to find creative solutions to commercial challenges while evaluating relevant legal risks.
⦁ Excellent drafting communication skills, clear written communication, and attention to detail.
⦁ Flexible, good interpersonal skills, a proactive 'self-starter' approach and able to work as part of a team across different business areas.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

⦁ Eligible to work in the UK and qualified to practice law in England and Wales preferred (other jurisdictions considered) or with an imminent qualification date.
⦁ Required experience: drafting and negotiating complex business operational agreements.
