Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

The Director, Production Sourcing will be a part of the NBCUniversal Group Procurement Organization and will be responsible for Sourcing below-the line Physical Production categories. The individual will lead procurement strategies and efforts for the Company, globally, including, for television (internal broadcast and cable NBCU Studios), Film, Telemundo, and digital content.

Responsibilities:
• Work hand in hand with Studio executives and show-level executive crew leadership to deliver value, including favorable deal terms, responsive scopes of work, and best in market costs
• Lead enterprise-wide negotiations with the Company's suppliers in all below-the-line production procurement initiatives
• Set forth Strategies and Partner with executives to innovate how Productions engage with suppliers.
• Execute all transactions necessary to obtain enterprise-wide value for NBCUs productions including complex RFPs and RFIs; negotiating complex deal terms and contracts; calculating savings and value benefits resulting from sourcing opportunities
• Maintain expert working knowledge of the company's production spend, succinct categories of that spend in addition to positive working relationships with a very large base of suppliers that work with NBCU productions globally and on individual locations
• Manage team of three: London based Manager, LA based Manager and Specialist, to accomplish above objectives for productions globally located primarily in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and Canada

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• In-depth knowledge and experience of principles, methods and practices related to strategic sourcing, procurement and/or complex project/deal management
• Demonstrated ability to define sourcing/procurement opportunities and risks and facilitate execution of appropriate acquisition/procurement/sourcing deals backed by strong analytical skills
• Ability to gather and be facile with identifying and categorizing Company supplier spend data
• Ability to build consensus with executive level, internal partners, and external suppliers with the goal of developing and completing procurement deals favorable to the Company and its suppliers
• Strong negotiation skills involving complex, analytical category matters
• Demonstrated conflict resolution and strong stakeholder management capabilities
• 3+ years' experience managing a team of manager level professionals and above
• Highly motivated self-starter and creative thinker
• Extremely strong oral and written communication skills; relationship building skills
• Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Impeccable organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple projects to meet deadlines and objectives
• BS degree with a business concentration

Desired Characteristics:
• 10+ years' experience in analytic, negotiation driven roles that required quantifiable results (i.e. strategic sourcing/procurement, supply chain management)
• Media/Entertainment, Television, or film production experience

Additional Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
