Freelance Newsroom Assistant -NBC Sports Bay Area

Responsibilities

PLEASE NOTE: This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

The Newsroom Assistant reports to the Sr. Director of Production and Editorial, and provides support to the Content/Production Managers (including Live Events, Digital and Operations/Engineering), serves as office manager for the newsroom employees and assists in hosting all guests in the newsroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• PRIORITY: Manages and books hotel and travel arrangements for talent, analysts and staff
• PRIORITY: Assists talent, analysts and staff with expense reports as needed under management's supervision
• PRIORITY: Helps manage parking in office garage and parking tags associated with garage
• Manages and maintains newsroom supplies and shipping supplies
• Oversees the onboarding of all Content/Production PEP employees, including coordinating paperwork and working with HR to make sure everything is processed
• Works with employees on timecard mistakes/fixes
• Manages work events and booking/catering involved for said events
• Hours mostly 10a-7p range Monday-Friday but can vary during the year and potential weekends necessary for special events (i.e. playoffs, NFL season)
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, weekends and holidays on occasion as needed
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Minimum 1+ years of administrative office experience preferred, preferably in a media outlet

Additional Job Requirements
• Willingness to work nights and across weekends
• Must be willing to work in San Francisco
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
