The External Communications Executive, plays an important role in helping to tell our story to press and industry stakeholders, with responsibility for managing comms for our kids' brands Nickelodeon and Milkshake!, as well as events and consumer products.

With the upcoming launch of Paramount+ in the UK in 2022, our streaming narrative will be a major team focus, alongside our content and culture pillars.

This role will also manage team processes, including but not limited to overseeing quarterly evaluation reports and award entries.

If you have strong writing and organisational skills, as well as a keen eye for a story, we want to hear from you!

What will you be doing?
• Act as the point of contact for external communications relating to the following areas:
• VCN UK's Kids brands - Nickelodeon portfolio, Milkshake!, UK Consumer Products and Diversity & Inclusion and culture
• Support corporate communications strategy in the following areas: VCN UK's streaming services, including Paramount+ (launching 2022), My5 and Pluto TV, VCN UK's content and programming pipeline across pay TV brands, MTV and Comedy Central, and free-to-air public service broadcaster Channel 5.
• Draft relevant communications materials e.g. press releases, briefs, Q&As and reactive statements
• Develop and pitch news stories, features, and interviews, as well as managing press enquiries
• Support executives at key industry conferences e.g. Children's Media Conference, Brand Licensing Europe
• Manage departmental admin processes and oversee awards process
• Oversee quarterly report for external, including media monitoring and evaluation

What are we looking for?
• Communications experience at a relevant level
• Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills
• An understanding of and affinity with VCN UK's brands
• Knowledge of media/entertainment and broadcast industry landscape
• Ability to make good contacts with relevant trade and B2B media
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
• Knowledge of social media and emerging digital trends
• Can-do attitude, enthusiasm and flexibility
• Strong organisational skills
