Overview

Summary The Coordinator – Promotions & Community Relations is responsible for planning and executing the promotional schedule as part of the revenue generating marketing plan while setting a high energy atmosphere for all home games, working with multiple departments and partners on promotional content and game presentations. Will coordinate community related appearances and fulfill donation requests as required by the PDL. Compensation package includes base salary plus commission plan.

• Manage game day crew to create a high energy atmosphere for fans
• Coordinate family friendly fun during games with Manager – Multimedia including field contests, music, video vignettes, game scripts and more
• Ensure paid promotional content is included in game presentations and with promotional items
• Work with departments including but not limited to sponsorships, graphics, ticket sales and broadcasting to help gain direct and residual ticket sales and sponsor revenue
• Coordinate and activate various community relations duties, including but not limited to: school programs in person and virtually, hospital visits, chamber of commerce events, donation planning and requests, civic organization events, local fundraiser programs and other programs and events
• Includes organizing and planning as well as documenting these programs and events as needed
• Responsible for non-game season sponsorship and ticket sales as assigned
• Pull tarp on field as necessary

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 1 regular full time employee and seasonal game day cats crew. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
Other Skills and Abilities
• Prior sports and entertainment industry experience preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Hours

Business hours are Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5pm, however, additional hours may be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays.
