Assistant Manager, Publishing Specialty Sales

Job Description

This position creates, updates, tracks and plans for all specialty sales for direct market. The successful candidate will act as the Specialty sales retailer liaison for special exclusive sales.

The candidate must have excellent communication, sales, and organizational skills, and proficiency in publishing systems and operations. This includes coordinating with retailers, editorial, manufacturing, sales and distributors. This position is responsible for print, digital, and other special sales as needed.

Responsibilities:
• Create weekly tracking reports on exclusive covers
• Maintain needed sales data with distribution partners
• Maintain FOCs and On sale dates
• Assist with operations issues (printer, manufacturing, PRH, retailer, etc)
• Manage product updates with retailers and production
• Manage art for covers
• Help coordinate variant cover creation and solicitation
• Manage retailer Customer Service issues and questions
• Manage cover sign offs and approvals
• Manage contract document preparation and submission

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in the publishing, toy, gift, collectibles, and/or novelties industry
• Good ability to build relationships with business partners
• Proven ability to work in fast-growing environment and with multiple teams
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communications skills
• Must have patience, strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Excellent understanding of processes and proven ability to constantly improve these processes
• Must be computer savvy. Knowledge of how to use a PC and/or a Mac is required
• Must understand Marvel comics and collected editions

Preferred Education

BA / BS degree in applicable fields of study or relevant work experience
