Job Summary/Description:

KWQC's News Director is responsible for supervising and coordinating the news
staff, and all their activities, in a manner that produces quality, relevant content for Western Illinois and Eastern Iowa. By employing all available resources, the News Director makes sure trusted content is delivered to our community, across multiple platforms, in the most timely, efficient and effective manner possible.

The ideal candidate will have:

The News Director is a Department Head position, and part of KWQC's Executive Team, reporting directly to the station VP/General Manager. Experience working with departmental budgets is a plus.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Qualified applicants should have a Broadcast Journalism or Communications degree from an accredited four-year College, University or equivalent experience and a minimum of five years in news management experience as well as a thorough understanding of journalism in this digital age.
