Senior Technical Program Manager – Global Strategic Initiatives

HBO Max® is WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer platform, offering best in class quality entertainment. HBO Max features the greatest array of storytelling for all audiences from the iconic brands of HBO, Warner Bros., DC, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies and much more. The streaming platform launched in the United States in May 2020 before expanding to 39 territories in Latin America and the Caribbean in June 2021. In the second half of this year, HBO Max is coming to European territories with further launches planned for 2022.

The Job

As a Senior Technical Program Manager focused on third-party platforms and distribution channels, you will execute feature delivery across multiple global software development teams in support of strategic partners. You will work cross-functionally with distribution, partner operations, product management, experience design, engineering, quality assurance, and release management to understand strategy, requirements, and technical implementation details. You will drive key program deliverables, communicate regularly with stakeholders, and manage dependencies, risks, and escalations. You will be a key contact between the Direct-to-Consumer Technology team and MVPDs across the globe.

Your role?
• Manage the delivery of HBO Max for cable operators' set-top boxes
• Manage the project intake process and status communications across multiple global engineering and QA teams
• Support the HBO Max application certification process
• Work with cross-functional teams to define and schedule work to develop key features and maintain quality integrations
• Build solid relationships with external partners, including leading regular meetings as a representative of the Direct-to-Consumer Technology organization

To be a contributing member of this team, you will have a mix (not all) of these skills:
• Experience in technical program management or a similar role (e.g., product management, technical project management)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to target communications up, down, and across the organization and to external partners
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Systems thinking and a strong sense of ownership to drive complex programs with interdependencies that require definition from the ground up
• First-rate project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple, sometimes competing, priorities with date-driven timelines and a solid understanding of risk management
• Technical aptitude to understand feature and set-top box device specifications
• Experience with agile software development methodologies
• Bachelor's Degree or an advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience working with cable operators / MVPDs
• Analytical skills to dive into usage data and performance metrics
• Entertainment or media industry experience
• Experience with consumer-facing products
• Familiar with Slack, email, web conferencing, Jira/Confluence
• Ability to learn new development and productivity tools to continuously improve effectiveness
