The Position

The Content Director (Brazil) will lead all negotiations for the successful acquisition or license of the necessary rights to content intended for the portfolio of brands in Brazil, including HBO, HBO MAX, TNT, Space and Warner Channel among others. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning the short-term and long-term strategy for the most efficient acquisition of rights, negotiating, acquiring or licensing content (finished and original) intended for the Brazilian audience, tracking dynamic marketplace information and available product from creators/producers, distributors and competitors, and overseeing/producing a wide variety of reports (including available Ancine funds) to provide the General Entertainment division with an arsenal of information, which allows them to secure the best product at the right prices.

Job Responsibilities:
• Develop budgets and long-range financial plans for all General Entertainment content to be licensed and/or produced for Brazil.
• Initiate, manage and execute the program or rights acquisitions process for all Brazilian original (scripted and non-scripted) and finished content.
• Effectively manage relationships with all key distributor and producers in Brazil; interface and engage in successful negotiations with distribution and production executives at television and theatrical studios
• Strategically plan, coordinate, and manage the efficient use of all available Ancine funds for the development and production of content that will help meet all of the company´s linear networks quota requirements. Generate and/or supervise the creation of monthly/quarterly reports that provide key insights towards the strategic and efficient use of such funds, as well as competitive acquisition practices on television series and feature films, including the analysis of trends in purchasing for linear and non-linear forms of media
• Generate revenue by actively creating deals to monetize WarnerMedia´s assets across multiple media platforms in the region through co-productions, barter agreements, etc.
• Prepare reports and decks as needed, utilizing methodology and design for accuracy and impact, for both internal and external audiences
• Support the Head of Acquisition & Negotiation as well as the Chief Content Officer, providing support during deal negotiations
• Assist in/or oversee the resolution of contract discrepancies of licensed content
• Support departmental initiatives and undertake special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
• This role requires a confident self-starter who relishes the opportunity to drive and close deals to support the programming strategy for WarnerMedia´s vast portfolio of brands in Latin America.
• Strong negotiation, business and legal skills, and the ability to synthesize information and devise strategies. The right candidate will have a talent for driving results in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to handle many projects simultaneously -- highly organized and works well under time constraints meeting daily and weekly deadlines
• Individual should be flexible, dependable, and results-oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively (written & oral) with all levels of personnel
• Ability to be a strategic partner with internal and external clients
• Willingness to work long hours as needed.

Educational and Experience Requirements:
• A degree in business or law is preferred.
• Entertainment industry experience with at least two years spent acquiring/licensing content, and/or negotiating contracts as an executive or agent.
• Strong knowledge of film, television, and social media as it relates to entertainment content
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills
• A solid understanding of non-linear content distribution models
• Expert-level skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint are needed
