What We Do

We are looking for a discipline head for the Technical Art team at Mediatonic.

As a Technical Art Director, you'll be responsible for an organisation of 15-20 Technical Artists, with 4-6 senior team members reporting into you. You will ensure we are making the best technical choices, developing efficient pipelines and driving the performance and visual quality of our games. We're looking for an experienced leader with extensive technical knowledge and who is passionate about managing people and driving best practices across our teams.

This is a studio, cross-project role but with a strong focus on Fall Guys.

As a Technical Art Director, it's not expected that you are the expert in every area of Technical Art, but expertise across multiple areas of Tech Art is desired, such as rendering, content creation, memory/performance, shader creation and/or tool development.

What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for a Business Development Manager based in France to manage and provide strategic direction for the expansion of Unreal Engine market share in EMEA via licensing.

In this role you will
• Managing the day to day requirements of Epic Games EMEA Unreal Engine licensing with a focus on France but also potentially for a portfolio of additional countries in the EU, Africa and the Middle East
• Engaging in current and prospective licensees of Unreal Engine in Europe with the goal of increasing Unreal Engine's market share, obtaining pre-approval of all terms by the Territory Head before going to contract
• Liaising with Territory Head and other senior level executives on terms of license agreements, strategies to obtain new licensees, and business development targets for the French and wider EMEA market share
• Evangelizing Unreal Engine to current and prospective licensees via all reasonable means, including but not limited to live office visits, trade shows, and conferences throughout the territory
• Discussing and analysing licensee requirements and communicate requirements and reactions to the business development and Unreal Engine management teams for analysis and development of future iterations of the engine
• Assisting Epic Games PR and Marketing teams on Unreal Engine public relations and marketing plans for France and wider EMEA
• Staying up-to-date on competitor products to assess competitive advantages of Unreal Engine
• Frequent travel within the territory to meet with licensees and potential licensees and some travel outside the territory to meet organizational goals will be required
• Note: The role does not have the authority to negotiate or conclude contracts on behalf of the parent (and this is also true in practice)

What we're looking for
• At least 10 years of experience in business development or M&A capacity, within the videogames industry
• Deep knowledge of the French videogame market, wider EMEA a plus
• Highly motivated, goal oriented, self starter capable of working at a high level in a team or on their own
• Management experience within high growth organizations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with a variety of positions and functions within and outside the organization
• Strong C-suite business connections with the videogame industry
• Ability to read, comprehend, and provide feedback on contract provisions
• Experience negotiating with international organizations
• Must read, write and speak fluently in English and French
• Proficiency German, Dutch, Spanish or Italian is a strong plus, other EMEA languages are a plus
