Job Description

As the senior Health & Safety specialist in North America, the purpose of this role is to lead on driving high standards of occupational H&S in North America across the Endeavor portfolio, thereby ensuring protection of people and the business. Key to the role will be ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation and Endeavor Health and Safety (H&S) policy and regular engagement with business units across the region, including visits to business units in person. The incumbent will provide bespoke advice, support and assistance to business units and Corporate H&S as required, including the sharing of H&S learning and good practice, accident and incident investigation, trend analysis and other functions.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Assist the Manager/Director Global H&S to understand the H&S opportunities and challenges across the Endeavor portfolio in North America and formulate and execute prioritised plans to deliver continual H&S improvement
• Assist the Manager/Director Global H&S to promote Endeavor's H&S strategy and policy by encouraging a strong H&S culture and being a proponent of good practice
• Collaborate with Risk Management, Security, Facilities, HR, Legal and other Shared Services on H&S matters as required
• Formulate and set short and long-term H&S goals, objectives, plans and initiatives to ensure legal and Endeavor policy compliance
• Continually identify and evaluate H&S risks and work collaboratively with business units to address them, engaging the Manager/Director Global H&S as required
• Set and monitor key H&S performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate the effectiveness of measures and initiatives to achieve them
• Provide intimate H&S support to North American business units on bespoke projects or events as required
• Conduct H&S training needs analysis to develop and deliver targeted H&S training to business units and individuals in North America
• Work with the Manager/Director Global H&S to establish Safety Management Groups in North America and keep the heads of business and enterprise areas informed of issues and initiatives that impact Endeavor and its subsidiaries. including legislative changes
• Ensure that Endeavor subsidiaries have access to appropriate sources of competent advice
• Assist with the vetting and assessment of subcontractors used by Endeavor in North America
• Gather and analyse data from North American business units on H&S performance, identifying positive and negative trends so that lessons can be learned and good practice shared
• Line manage the H&S Advisor in North America, and others as required
• Visit Endeavor locations in North America to review management of safety and the effectiveness of arrangements
• Oversight of H&S and compliance in buildings and offices in North America, i.e. First Aid, Fire Warden arrangements, etc
• Participate in consultation with North American employees on H&S matters
• Participate and provide guidance to managers on accident investigations to ensure lessons are learned and shared
• Engage with federal, state, province and city authorities and regulatory bodies as required
• Advise on requirements and specifications of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment

• Minimising work-related H&S accidents and incidents
• Providing H&S training to business units and individuals
• Partnering closely with other Shared Services (e.g. Compliance, Corporate Security, Legal, Risk Management, Human Resources, Facilities, etc) and external regulatory agencies to ensure Endeavor complies with legal mandates to provide a safe work environment

Knowledge and Experience

Mandatory
• Relevant H&S/OSHA experience in a diverse organisation, preferably in the Arts, Entertainment, Media and Events sector
• Extensive knowledge of US OSHA and state legislation
• Knowledge of Canadian and Mexican equivalent to OSHA legislation
• Demonstrable experience of line management

Desirable (not mandatory)
• Experience of identifying training requirements, then formulating and delivering H&S training in the classroom and online

Skills and Abilities

• Practical, business- minded approach to providing advice and support to internal clients on all H&S-related matters
• Personable – able build rapport and influence the business on H&S-related matters
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships at all levels
• Competent on MS Office applications (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Proven ability to deliver high quality results at pace in a dynamic and demanding environment
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise a varied and heavy workload

Qualifications and Training

Mandatory
• Hold, or working towards, a Bachelor's degree-level qualification in a H&S or OSHA-related subject

Desirable
• Auditing qualification and experience
