The Challenge Ahead

The Quality Engineering Technical Director is responsible for providing strategy, stakeholder management, technology solutions, and engineering quality oversight to support EA Sports game development and quality verification teams. You will report to the Principal Technical Director and influence both the tactical project level decisions and strategic evolution of the QVS Quality Engineering teams.

Responsibilities
• You will drive Technical/Product strategy and roadmap for quality verification tools/automation working with Development and QV stakeholders.
• Lead the way with design and implementation of team systems and architecture.
• You will understand the goals, motivations, and processes of multiple teams within Electronic Arts, and translate those goals into initiatives that guide the team towards success.
• You will establish software engineering quality practices, and lead (or delegate) educating the team on said practices.
• You will manage a small number of SE direct reports.

Qualifications
• Computer Science Degree, Computer Engineering Degree, or equivalent.
• 10+ years software industry technical experience working on quality verification tools, test automation and/or development process improvements.
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
• The experience and ability to understand and work within a broad ecosystem of different technologies.
• Balance technical, team, product, project and requirements for successful outcomes.
• Experience leading engineering teams of a dozen or more in size.
• You know good software architecture/design.
• Strong understanding and support for quality practices in software engineering.
