At DreamWorks Animation Television, our Lead Lighter/Compositor in the HUB works closely with the HUB VFX Supervisor, HUB CG Supervisors, and HUB Lighting/Compositing Supervisor to develop and support lighting and compositing processes and tools for multiple CG series. The Lead Lighter/Compositor ensures that all deliverables align with the production's schedule, technical specifications and creative vision of the series.

''What would you say you do here?''
• Create Maya and Nuke production tools using Python scripting language
• Set up, light, rig and comp character and environment assets for use in episodic television
• Manage personal asset lighting and tool creation workloads, meeting all deadlines of milestones to material delivery, based on the established schedule and technical requirements of the series
• Initiate, set up, organize and document any lighting tools
• Perform technical work in support of shot lighting using various production tools
• Perform creative lighting development setup as required using lighting and compositing tools
• Optimize setups for rendering
• Serve as lighting and compositing point person in production specific meetings and reviews
• On occasion will backfill Lighting/Comp Supervisors on the shows in their absence

Qualifications/Requirements
''What do I need to have in order to do this job?''
• Strong understanding of Lighting and Compositing pipelines
• Python scripting and tool development experience
• Experience working professionally with Maya, Vray and Nuke software
• Experience compositing render passes generated from V-Ray
• Strong understanding of color, contrast, and lighting design
• Experience creating CG pipeline production tools for television, feature film or gaming industries
• Working knowledge of Linear Workflows
• Experience working in a fast paced production environment
• Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoys working in a team environment
• Ability to travel to international Partner Studio(s) as needed

Desired Characteristics

• At least 5 years of experience working as a lighter/compositor in television animation, feature animation, VFX and/or video games
• Experience with asset management software, Shotgrid preferred
• Experience working with international Partner Studio(s) is a plus
• Bachelor's degree preferred
