Paid Media Strategy Associate (Sports)

Location: NYC (but remote until TBD)

The Customer Acquisition team is tasked with driving new subscriber growth. The team is responsible for the planning, execution and optimization of user acquisition and performance marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate has a passion for the digital media landscape and understands the intricacies and unique attributes of every step in the marketing funnel. The successful candidate will bring a highly analytical, creative, and flexible growth mindset to the role, which will be critical to delivering breakthrough thinking for this channel.

The strategy team works on a number of key areas within growth marketing including campaign prioritization, creative messaging, testing, international growth plans, marketing insights and budgets. In this role, you'll support strategy for ESPN+ and Star+, participating in cross-functional strategy discussions and providing new customer acquisition insights.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with analytics and sports marketing teams to develop strategic recommendations on to best market a wide variety of content and live sports programming
• Maintain and share out a prioritization framework and calendar for upcoming campaigns
• Analyze performance of campaigns based on key business metrics to develop actionable insights for future initiatives; surface insights and strategies to key stakeholders
• Work with the broader customer acquisition team to develop and prioritize marketing hypotheses for testing
• Develop a toolkit of digital marketing best practices
• Prepare weekly, monthly and ad hoc recaps of marketing performance for leadership and cross functional teams
• Roll up your sleeves to support with any high priority projects across the marketing team that require extra pairs of hands

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of work experience with at least 1 year working in a digital marketing role and/or a highly analytical environment (ex: advertising, media, management consulting, investment banking, business strategy)
• In-platform knowledge of programmatic buying (Search, Social, Display), campaign management and in-dash optimization techniques is a plus
• Familiarity with direct to consumer or sports marketing preferred
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required
• Power user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to turn data into stories. You're able to distill complicated concepts and explain them to senior level executives and team members alike.
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to ever-changing scenarios
• Proactive, multi-tasker, problem-solver who can be a collaborative team player
• Ability to work across teams and matrixed business units
• A can-do, positive attitude and a strong desire to get things done
• BA/BS Required
