Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Technical Project Manager to join our Engineering Data Strategy team. This role requires acute attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, and familiarity with project management methodologies. We value team mates who are practical, results-oriented, and employ an impactful yet succinct communication style. In this role, you will help shape the success of our engineering and product strategy by holding regular planning sessions, collaborating with partners, outlining strategic project results, and coordinating directly with other technical project managers across the engineering organization.

Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) brings together the Company's best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams together into one global organization. DMED is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company's content engines. DMED also manages operations of the Company's streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+ Hotstar; and domestic broadcast and cable television networks.

Responsibilities:
• Apply project management best practices across core competencies including Prioritization, Estimation, Roadmapping, User Story Writing, Intake, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, Daily Standups and other Agile Ceremonies.
• Implement project management frameworks and methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall and Scaled Agile.
• Ensures early, often and proactive communication with partners and team members to set expectations around project delivery and team responsibilities.
• Monitor project phases and schedules through independent analysis and flag areas of concern when appropriate.
• Employs strong critical thinking related to team execution by asking probing questions to establish risks or blind spots.
• Builds reporting around team execution and opportunities for improvement by utilizing project management software such as JIRA.
• Crafts supporting documentation, presentations and other key deliverables related to project status, risks, decisions or action items
• Helps facilitate, organize and structure team processes by organizing meetings and distributing meeting minutes.

Basic Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of experience in project management, product management, software development or quality assurance
• Basic understanding of the software development life cycle and iterative development practices
• Basic understanding of product and technology ecosystems.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of JIRA and project management software.
• Knowledge of client and services oriented architecture and development practices
• Project management certifications such as CSM, PSM, PMP, SAFE
• Experience in supporting moderate to high technical complexity projects in a modern agile environment.
• Experience in working with non-co-located teams with a diverse geographic footprint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate anywhere from the team level to C-level executives.
