Manager, Editorial (Quality Standards/Assurance)

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Quality Manager for the English Team, you are responsible for the overall activities of the quality department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization's products and/or development processes. In your role, you will shape Subtitling's quality program, monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system, data production and analysis of trends, and reporting on performance and delivering to set customer quality standards.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for working alongside the Global Quality stakeholders to ensure the quality standards and practices are defined and measured consistently across the teams.
• Responsible to ensure that quality standards are continuously met by the internal and external English teams that cover staff, freelancers, and partners.
• Responsible to ensure that proper corrective and preventive actions are suggested and implemented and effectiveness is measured.
• Responsible to review and analyse client, customer, and user feedback.
• Responsible for building a continuous feedback and rating mechanism to measure quality of work, skills and resources within the English localization team.
• Responsible to look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency within workflows.
• Responsible to liaise with other managers and staff and suggest training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.
• Responsible to work with the Resource Managers and Production Managers to improve overall quality of subtitles delivered by the team and come up with initiatives that make the work faster, easier and increase overall quality.
• Responsible for representing the team in relevant meetings and calls, as required and working with global stakeholders to shape quality processes and best practices that can be applied to all locations of Deluxe that is involved in this work.
• Responsible for driving HR processes and policies within the team and backing the Senior Managers and global Directors as needed on certain responsibilities.
• Responsible for managing people in the quality team, morale, personal growth of team members, coaching, managing attrition, planning business continuity and succession planning.

KEY STRENGTHS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in localization and preferably in a quality sphere.
• Thorough understanding of English language, its nuances and dialectical variations and its influence on the localization space
• Knowledge of quality processes, Six Sigma or other quality certification is a plus.
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with a keen eye to adapt to changing industry practices, trends and customer expectations and adapt internal processes accordingly.
• A team player and an influencer who will work with global offices to build a quality framework that sets the standards in the Industry for subtitling and localization services.
• Great communicator, willing to be flexible in working with multiple time-zones.
