DFX Manager

The Digital Effects Manager will manage a small team to create artwork and localise film trailer GFX from English to APAC languages and home entertainment deliverables.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, train and motivate the DFX team
• Successfully manage campaigns through the DFX department
• Develop and implement schedules, procedures and rosters
• Present and communicate briefs to teams across Deluxe
• Ensure adherance to budgets and schedules
• Liaise with department heads to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimations and schedules for integrating these needs into new or existing workflows
• Create 2D/3D foreign-versioned titles, including animation and compositing for major film studio's trailers and promos, and producing bespoke title recreation indistinguishable from the original version.
• Extensive typographic work, including researching and formulating title design templates and layouts for use within Dept.
• Compliance with account Management/internal producers in channeling pre-approved designs to clients.
• Archiving / housekeeping of all design projects.
• Conforming, encoding and delivery of Home Entertainment menus and build assets.
• Deliver final shots and sequences that are creatively and technically excellent.
• Setting up compositions with all the relevant data and artwork.
• Create multiple formats for output, including 2D & Stereoscopic Digital Cinema, Film and HD.

What you bring
• Previous supervision experience in a media operations environment
• Solid technical understanding of the television and film distribution industry
• Demonstrated knowledge of major media software and hardware including Adobe CC
• Demonstrated ability to develop new procedures and processes
• Good understanding about fonts, typography etc
• Adobe CC (Essential) – After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro
• Illustration – comfortable in creating vector artwork with Illustrator
• Cinema 4D – Modelling (Text), Texturing, Lighting
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional attention to detail in balance with keeping to tight deadlines
• Ability to work well under pressure, make clear decision and to work on one's own initiative.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
• Strong understanding of Mac, Linux and Windows operating systems
• Customer focused
