Production Assistant, Longform (CNN+)

We are seeking a Production Associate to join an ambitious and exciting unit that will create premium longform content exclusively for CNN, Pop Docs. The Production Assistant will support the lead producers, associate producers and senior leadership team in all aspects of production.

The Daily
• The ideal candidate is creative and has a deep curiosity of news and popular culture.
• This person should be highly organized and detail oriented as they will be responsible for supporting and producing multiple segments, in coordination with the Senior Operations Producer and Supervising Producer.
• Candidates should have experience supporting shoots in the field.
• The Production Assistant reports to the Senior Operations Producer but will work closely with all levels of the editorial staff.
• There will be light to moderate travel.
• PA's will be asked to transcribe drafts of compelling interview descriptions, guest bios, and headlines, and support research packets assigned by producers and the senior leadership team.
• Help manage workflows, calendars, and team communications
• Production Assistants should be prepared to pitch stories, characters, and experts.
• Candidates will be asked to develop, produce and edit content to be posted on social media.

The Essentials
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Passion for topical news and key issues of the moment, especially as related to popular culture.
• Second
• Understanding of diverse video formats, from live programming to storytelling
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Vast experience researching and developing stories through development.
• Experience in shooting and producing in the field.
• Second language is a plus.
• This candidate should be an effective communicator, capable of working closely with senior producers and producers on their scripts and pitches.
• Extensive knowledge of the popular culture landscape is required.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
