Promotions Producer

Job Description

WJZ is looking for a nightside promotion producer candidate with a focus on topical production and working with the team to produce creative and unique marketing campaigns.

This promotion producer should be dynamic, driven and savvy with a knowledge, passion, curiosity and love for local news, promotion and storytelling.

Candidate must also possess the ability to create promotional content for the TV stations and associated platforms. In addition to strong conceptual thinking, the candidate must have excellent script writing, producing and editing skills as well as extensive ''hands on'' knowledge of the production process.

Responsibilities
• Write, produce & edit the daily topicals, with a focus on the 11pm News a
• Write, produce & edit weekly promos
• Develop and produce strong creative ideas that are primarily TV focused but include our overall multi-platform objectives.
• Conceptualize, write, edit, produce and/or shoot image campaigns to entrench and to extend station brand.
• Researches and writes scripts for spots, vignettes and other promotions.
• Participate at station promotional events and manage on site activations as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications
• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a creative services department writing news topicals, producing and editing video for topical promotions and participating in station community events.
• Has the ability to perform under tight deadlines in a ''quick turnaround'' environment.
• ''Hands on'' Knowledge of promo editorial process from beginning to end.
• Must exhibit highly conceptual thinking and writing skills. Must be a good storyteller.
• Interpersonal and time management skills a necessity.
• Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
