Overview

CBS Studios Marketing is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual with a passion for Star Trek, the established and growing entertainment franchise. This role will be focused on unique and inspiring content that delivers for audiences worldwide. The VP, Franchise Management will be responsible for partnering with creators, distribution partners, studio executives, digital teams and other related partners. They will develop, coordinate and manage a wide range of content strategies, marketing initiatives, consumer product strategies, content and other related brand and franchise activities. They will coordinate and manage the timing of television and digital content releases, marketing and communication plans, and consumer product rollouts for new and existing TV series.

The VP will coordinate with the release of Star Trek feature films and related initiatives. Additionally, they will plan for sustained franchise engagement, partnering with stakeholders to build marketing plans, advertising creative, promotions and partnerships, digital content and social media programs, complementary in-market events, campaign analysis, tracking and business development in a manner that effectively sustains and grows the Star Trek brand. They will manage a team of deeply knowledgeable brand and franchise specialists with an objective to coordinate all activities related to the franchise as to best maximize our ability to elevate the franchise and optimize marketing and customer engagement opportunities.

We are looking for someone who will partner with distribution stakeholders to develop and launch effective campaigns, engagement programs and content strategies that impact millions of customers globally. This role will work closely with internal stakeholder teams including development, digital content, media, creative, partnerships and promotions, social, international, research, legal, events and PR. This person should possess a blended balance of strategist, project manager, producer, creative, relationship builder, franchise manager and analyst. Experience working on global theatrical tentpoles for a major studio is a plus! Critical to success will be relationships with production companies, talent and external studios who may be partners on the project(s).

Responsibilities
• Manage the process start to finish for strategy, development, and execution of year-round integrated franchise plans: Core responsibilities include:
• Managing a team that collectively develops, manages and coordinates all brand and marketing activities related to the franchise in an effort to create more brand value for the Star Trek franchise.
• Managing a content team that produces and distributes a wide range of digital offerings for and related to the franchise.
• Coordinating content release strategies across distribution platforms.
• Coordinating and supervises TV series marketing initiatives with distribution partners, including creation of goals, approach, audience targets and positioning, creative guidance, and overall communication and engagement strategy.
• Driving the development of cross-discipline plans by working closely with and gathering inputs from all internal global stakeholders.
• Acting as a leader and motivator who inspires others to deliver bar-raising, best-in-class ideas and plans.
• Managing multiple and disparate stakeholder input/feedback to gain alignment against strategies and tactics.
• Partnering with internal creative leadership to develop an innovative, effective and efficient creative campaigns, from approach to approval, that maintain and build the Star Trek brand.
• Overseeing long-lead strategic development in collaboration with creative leaders. Provides creative direction and feedback to partner teams to ensure all work is on brand and aligns with campaign and brand strategy.
• Identifying assets needed for each campaign/initiative and communicate to team(s) in a timely manner for on-time delivery and launch. Build workback calendars/plans to support each deliverable.
• Creating and owning goals and performance metrics for all initiatives; monitoring regularly to understand effectiveness of strategy and creative, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Presenting to stakeholder senior leadership regularly to update on metrics and progress to goals; setting mechanisms to operationalize timely global status updates for titles.
• Cultivating positive relationships with appropriate partners, talent, studio partners and other stakeholders to forward our position and effectively grow the Star Trek brand.
• Overseeing project budgets and works with team to track, forecast and plan.
• Aligning closely with research teams to lead priority consumer insight studies.

Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of franchise management and marketing experience, preferably working on a global franchise within the entertainment space.
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or related field.

Additional Qualifications
• Advanced decision-making skills with proven ability to lead, influence, align and inspire teams, including those who are not direct reports.
• Experience guiding creative input, development and execution from concept to completion.
• Possessing strong ability to use data insights to frame recommendations and results into concise and measurable reports.
• Strong understanding of global marketing principles and customer engagement tactics.
• Experience creating and leading sustained engagement and franchise-building initiatives beyond the launch of a product, preferably on significant and established IP.
• Thinks strategically but stays on top of tactical execution.
• Exemplary project management skills, with strong ability to juggle multiple priorities and excel in a lean and demanding work environment.
• Incredible verbal and written communication skills.
• Operates with significant autonomy.
• Demonstrated bias for action and willingness to roll up sleeves to get work done, even when outside the scope of the job.
• Solid knowledge of the TV/film/entertainment landscape and streaming platforms!
