The Emmy and Critics' Choice Award-nominated STEPHEN COLBERT PRESENTS TOONING OUT THE NEWS is a first-of-its-kind original series that features a cast of animated news anchors and analysts lampooning top news stories and interviewing real-world guests.
CBS Studios / Comedy Central weekly animated variety series STEPHEN COLBERT PRESENTS TOONING OUT THE NEWS seeks a Graphic Artist, preferably with a digital news, network/cable news, or late night background. This is currently a remote position, but a New York based candidate is preferred.
This Graphic Artist will work with a team of artists to create both still and motion graphics for a weekly news comedy show with a tight turnaround. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, works well under deadline, and has the ability to emulate cable news style. Comedy experience is not required.
Responsibilities:
• Create day-of still and/or motion graphics, including but not limited to: logos, on-air cable news-style titles and segment graphics, Photoshop composite illustrations, and fake advertising campaigns.
• Work within established brand guidelines and existing motion graphics templates.
• Work alongside design and animation teams to integrate graphics into the show's animated world.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Undergraduate degree or 2 years of equivalent work experience required.
• Ability to work within tight deadlines for daily turnaround.
• Excellent graphic design, motion design, and typography skills.
• Proficient in Adobe Suite; specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects. Experience with Cinema 4D strongly preferred.
• Prior experience creating graphics for news and/or late night comedy is preferred.
• Have a strong work ethic, and can adapt quickly to a constantly changing script and design needs.
• Illustration/drawing ability is a plus.
• Ablility to work a late shift once a week.
