Job Description
We are seeking a strong, experienced candidate to be part of the editorial team as part of content creation and editorial newsgathering process for CBS News Radio Network. Responsibilities include editing of audio content for air and stations use, writing lead-in lines for anchors and stations and interviewing newsmakers for on-air content. Also will be asked to assist in verifying facts and the accuracy of material and information form sources and newsmakers. Have the ability to write news stores for radio broadcast format. Candidate must have experience working in a newsroom and min-to-minute deadline environment.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Producing and recording news interviews.
• Gathering, writing, recording, editing and delivering news content inclusive of providing news content when breaking news occurs.
• Interviewing newsmakers.
• Writing scripts and material for stories under tight deadlines.
• Writing sharp, compelling writing with best sound and production values.
• Required to be experienced in digital audio editing
• This position involves working early mornings, weekends and overnight hours.
• Required to be experienced in digital audio editing.

QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires at least 1-2 years relevant experience at a network, station or media organization or similar experience in a newsroom and on-air broadcasts. Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills. Person must be extremely organized and have strong writing skills, motivated, self-starter who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to multi-task and prioritize is a necessary ability to adapt in a constantly changing 24 x 7 news environment. Ability to work weekends and overnights.
