We are seeking a Counsel with great interest in news and media law, transactions and digital distribution. The news review and transactions group is a demanding and fast-paced environment requiring quick and creative thinking, swift and sound risk assessment and fine judgment. The Counsel will work with an experienced team of collegial and dedicated lawyers and will advise on all aspects of newsgathering (for news programming appearing on all platforms). The position also will include drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, such as talent, marketing, content and technology, as well as other duties as determined by management.

Qualifications
• JD with excellent academic credentials
• Admitted to the New York Bar
• At least 3 years of legal experience at a law firm or in-house at a media company

Additional Qualifications
• Experience regarding intellectual property, media law or online media preferred
• Strong interest in news review and content
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters
• Ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple projects with minimal day-to-day oversight/direction
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment and to perform well under pressure while performing multiple tasks for a diverse and talented client base
