The Role

We are seeking a highly- motivated accounting leader with a combination of technical accounting skills, strong people leadership skills and exceptional collaboration and customer service skills to lead its Television Trust Accounting department. Based in Los Angeles, this position will be focused on the day-to-day operations and will be responsible for the oversight of invoicing, collections, general accounting reconciliation and bank account functions. This position will also play a critical role in leading and developing the accounts receivables team and providing accurate, timely accounting information to company executives to comply with financial reporting requirements and assist in company decision-making. Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Television accounts receivable department (invoicing, collections, reconciliation, follow-up and disbursements)
• Lead a team in ensuring the highest level of accuracy while supporting the company in recognizing revenue in a timely manner
• Develop a culture of collaboration and customer service at all levels of the department
• Identify areas for continual process improvement
• Complete various reporting and analysis of commission transactions and cash collections
• Maintain financial schedules and ledgers in compliance with company policies and procedures
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures
• Assist with the completion of account reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet accounts
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes
• Support the completion of financial statement audits
• Support new business initiatives by identifying key accounting requirements and assisting with the implementation of financial controls and processes within the existing business

Qualifications
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and management experience
• Experience in the entertainment industry and with entertainment accounting preferred
• Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting or finance preferred
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, complex projects and meet deadlines
• Proven ability to work in complex, matrix organizations
• Strong customer service and collaboration skills
• A strong understanding of financial concepts, such as accruals and deferred revenue
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
• Experience managing processes and projects that involve collaborating with teams across the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team, including the coaching and development of direct reports.
• Advanced Excel capabilities
