Overview and Responsibilities

After two years of history record performance, BET is currently seeking a senior level, highly accomplished media executive to lead our digital team as Senior Vice President of Digital Content. The SVP Digital Content is responsible for both developing a high growth vision and carrying out a brand-defining strategy for BET's digital/social platforms. In addition to being a transformative and proven content leader, the head of digital will be responsible for the development and production of compelling, relevant, and monetizable digital content. We seek a candidate who is an enthusiastic and mature leader who possess extensive, in-depth cultural knowledge and have a passion for the BET audience! This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer of BET.

This SVP must be a strong strategic leader with the ability to effectively communicate and influence BET/Paramount Sr. leaders, peers and direct reports. A proven track record of providing timely text, video and social content in multiple winning formats across music, news, sports, lifestyle, entertainment, style, and health categories. To that end, operating with a sense of urgency/agility as well as having pre-existing relationships with subject matter experts in various content sectors is critical.

While the SVP will work closely with SVP, Digital Ops, they should have an understanding of growth and monetization strategies across all major digital/social platforms. As well, the SVP should understand how to manage P&Ls and have experience overseeing budgets, strategically allocating resources, and delivering content within deadline parameters.

Day-to-day responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Manage and develop effective and efficient teams
• Partnering with SVP, Digital Ops to deliver P&L targets and annual business plan
• Provide best-in-class text and video content for O&O and social media channels
• Create and maintain a consistent vision and voice across all verticals
• Develop and enroll Sr. leaders/others in digital vision and 2-3yr strategy
• Leverage industry relationships to secure exclusive and original content
• Develop specific editorial and social media strategies that increase the BETD footprint and drive network goals
• Over deliver across KPIs that include video views, unique, watch time, impressions, and pageviews
• Maximize content opportunities around key BET IP and brand priorities such as tentpoles, linear series and specials, BET+, prosocial initiatives, etc.
• Develop and launch additional digital products and innovative initiatives that further increase the BETD footprint, provide incremental monetization opportunities, and unlock new audiences for BET

Requirements:
• 15+ years of digital experience
• Expertise in overseeing multiple content platforms
• The ability to analyze and use data to improve the performance of digital content
• Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to build and manage a collaborative, efficient team
• Work collaboratively across all functional areas of the company (Brand marketing, Programming, Sales, Finance, Business Development, etc.)
• Extraordinary communication and organizational skills!
