Coordinator, Social Media

Job Purpose

In order to enhance the coverage and engagement of the Arizona Diamondbacks social media accounts, we're looking for a creative and energetic individual with a passion for baseball, storytelling and meaningful fan engagement, as well as a strong knowledge of social media. This individual will report to the Manager, Social Media, and work closely with various departments including communications, video production, and creative design. An ability to communicate effectively as well as collaborate with others are key for this role's success.

Primary (Essential) Duties
• Create compelling content that tells the story of the Arizona Diamondbacks, both on and off the field. This includes news related to the team, highlighting players' personalities, and showcasing the organization's efforts in the community
• Engage with followers across social media platforms, answering questions and building excitement within the fan base
• Provide entertaining coverage of games via the team's social media platforms, which include but are not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn and Reddit
• Work with the related department to support the team's ancillary accounts and initiatives (e.g. D-backs Give Back, D-backs for Change, Chase Field Experience, D. Baxter)
• Collaborate with those outside of the Social Media/Communications department to develop innovative ways to tell stories over a 162-game season
• Work closely with the Manager, Social Media to combine available analytics and knowledge of trends to develop the team's online strategy
• Assist in the development of the Social Media Interns
• Develop ways to expand the team's Social Media presence ''physically'' within the ballpark

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
• Knowledge of social media trends and strategies
• Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
• Experience in photography, videography, and/or graphic design
• Proficiency working with the Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud suites
• Must be able to think quickly and respond to events developing in real time
• Mature decision-making is a must
• Should be a self-starter and able to take initiative on new ideas and projects
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus

Experience/Education Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in communications, Journalism, Sports Management, or a closely related discipline
• 1-3 years of professional experience in the Social Media field, preferably within a sports organization

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Travel less than 20%
