Senior Payroll Officer

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to commence as soon as possible in our head office location at Fox Studios. This is a permanent full time position.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller, the Payroll Officer is a member of the corporate finance team and is responsible for the day-to-day management of payrolls for both the Australian and US operations. Staff numbers vary. We currently employee between 400 to 500 employees, including additional contract and casual workers as required engaged for projects. The Senior Payroll Officer also plays an important role within the finance team in assisting the Senior Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer with implementing payroll procedures and controls to optimise the payroll system and related financial processes. In this role an accounting background is an advantage.

The company uses Ceridian Dayforce for payroll and as our HRIS.

What you'll get to do:
• End-to-end processing of fortnightly payrolls and related taxes and superannuation payments for Australian operations
• Coordination of fortnightly payroll with outsourced US based Payroll Company
• Accurate calculation and processing of all end of contract/termination payments
• Preparation and timely remittance of Company Superannuation contributions
• Preparation and timely remittance of employment related taxes, including Group Tax and Payroll Tax
• End of month reporting and reconciliations of leave balances, leave taken and leave liability
• General Ledger reconciliations of payroll related accounts
• Assistance as required with preparation of monthly payroll related journals and other journals as required
• Year-end reporting, including payment summaries, annual payroll tax reconciliation, group tax reporting and Superannuation reporting

What you bring:
• 5+ years' demonstrated payroll processing experience (end to end)
• Minimum payroll processing for 200+ employees
• Ceridian Dayforce experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Strong experience in Excel (including V look-ups)
• Ability to take full ownership of the role and have a very strong , well-rounded payroll knowledge
• Strong communication skill to liaise with staff, management and external parties on payroll related queries
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management capabilities
• Ability to work as part of a team
