About Amazon Music
Amazon Music is looking for an experienced strategy and business development professional to join our Strategy Team. The Sr Strategy Manager will support Amazon Music leadership in driving the strategic and business planning processes; authoring 1 to 3+ year strategic and business plans; and organizing and running key strategic initiatives and meetings. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of professional work experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate or business development, or a related field.
Key job responsibilities
• Partner with Amazon Music senior leadership, business, and product teams to develop overall long-term strategic and business plans
• Identify and evaluate compelling opportunities that support Amazon Music's global strategic priorities and expansion opportunities across music, audio, spoken word, and video content
• Lead cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Business, and senior management to evaluate and execute on various transaction types and strategic opportunities (e.g. M&A, investments)
• Serve as a thought leader within the Amazon Music team providing regular insights into competitive landscape and industry dynamics to help inform strategic planning and new business models
• Prepare various ad-hoc analysis to support go-to market strategy and evaluate new business models
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of experience developing, leading, negotiating and executing corporate and/or business transactions
• 5+ years of professional work experience
• Bachelor's Degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 8+ years in a highly analytical environment, e.g. investment banking, management consulting, corporate strategy, or corporate development experience at a major media or technology company or TMT group
• A personal passion for music and digital media
• Track record of leading complex strategic projects end-to-end across various stakeholders
• Ability to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Excellent analytical capabilities; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
• Experience using complex modeling and analysis to inform key business decisions. Candidates must be highly proficient in excel
• Demonstrated ability to work effective across internal and external organizations
• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively with a high degree of autonomy
• Strong understanding of digital music landscape, services, and business models
• Experience working in the music industry or other digital media roles
