Job summary
The music streaming business is experiencing high growth globally, and especially in Japan. This role is a unique opportunity to be part of a music revolution, grow the listener community and subscriber count and invent new ways to engage Japanese customers. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, and will partner with global teams around the world.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead GTM strategies for Japan: Work with global and local teams to ensure our GTM strategies and executions are appropriate for our marketplaces. This includes development, planning, localization, execution, goal setting and performance analysis of marketing campaigns.
• Work with cross-functional global teams to ensure we are driving feature parity across marketplaces and advocating for and delivering on needs that are specific to our marketplaces.
• Build GTM plans in partnership with our local product team including building recommendations on testing and scaling initiatives.
• Work consumer insights and business intelligence teams to brief research or incorporate existing insights and data
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across teams with competing priorities. Manage blocking issues, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and meet committed delivery timelines.
• Conduct postmortems and ensuring that learnings are applied to future launches and shared globally.
A day in the life
We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager, who will own growth driving initiatives on our innovation roadmap. You will own the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy for initiatives ranging from introducing new products and features to inventing new marketing programs. Examples of past initiatives we launched include Amazon Music Unlimited or ''HD audio for all customers'' … and we have some exciting new releases ahead. Your projects will delight customers with news experiences, drive efficiency across the marketing team and deliver new ways to grow the music business. You will work closely with our local product and marketing teams, AND global teams. A successful leader will have a builder mentality, be able to think strategically, prioritize, and deliver recommendations.
Overall, you will be challenged to push boundaries, propose and execute new ideas, and establish best practices for Amazon Music.
About the team
Amazon Music is focused on building a personalized, curated, and seamless music experience. We want to help our customers enjoy their favorite artists, discover new ones, enjoy podcasts, experience livestreaming performances, find their favorite playlists, watch music videos, and more… We build systems that are distributed on a large scale, spanning our music apps, web player, and Alexa devices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 6+ years of marketing experience leading product or digital services launches and GTM strategies
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal skills, including experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
• Extensive digital marketing experience with consumer facing brands, including integrated campaign management, customer acquisition, promotions, marketing, product marketing or channel marketing.
• Ability to deliver on multiple deadlines and prioritize compulsively as a self-directed individual, comfortable with a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Experience of operating and collaborating in a fast-paced, cross-functional matrixed global organization.
• Business level English and Japanese communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA/advanced degree
• Experience with subscription business, consumer products, media and/or e-commerce
• Basic knowledge and experience with web authoring and marketing automation tools
• Intuition for customer communication voice; adept at marketing copy writing
• Passion for music and technology and the confluence of the two
