Job summary
We are looking for a Data Scientist in Berlin, who will work on personalizing Amazon Music Customers' listening experience. You will transform the way people enjoy podcasts and music through personalized recommendations. You will lead the design, development, evaluation, deployment and updating of data-driven models and analytical solutions for recommending the right podcasts and music at the right time, considering context and behavior of a customer. You will lead the effort to use audio data, meta-data, search queries or customer's listening behavior to develop and test the features that will be used to personalize customer experience; you will collaborate with applied scientists to ensure a coherent personalization experience across Music and Podcasts; you will collaborate with engineers supervising the deployment and the productionization of personalization solutions.

• Research, design and implement ML components
• Analyze large amounts of data and define the features we use to personalize customer experience
• Participate to team design, scoping and prioritization discussions
• Contribute to the Amazon Music personalisation strategy

A day in the life
You'll be a leader in the space and a hands-on ML practitioner, collaborating with talented teams of engineers and scientists in the Amazon Music organization. You will be innovating in a complex technical and business space - dealing with Amazon scale and different types of audio assets (Music, Podctasts, Live Shows, etc). You will positively impact millions of customers worldwide using your experience in building ML models and features pipelines.

Our Amazon Music ML teams in Berlin are focused on optimizing the listening experience for the unique taste of our customers. Our Tier-1 services are distributed on a large scale, integrated with our music apps, web player, and voice-forward audio engagement on mobile and Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa, to support our customer base. We collaborate with teams in Seattle and San Francisco to push the envelope in using machine learning for music recommendation and personalization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical or scientific field (or equivalent)
• Experience analyzing large amounts of data and building large scale machine learning solutions
• Experience using Python, R or other relevant software languages
• Experience with big data analytics tools, such as Spark
• Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• PhD degree in Computer Science, or related technical or scientific field (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of deep learning, machine learning and statistics
• Experience building data pipelines to process large amounts of data
• Experience with recommender systems and personalization models
