Job Description
Are you a proven leader who's passionate about the power of audio storytelling? ABC Audio is looking for a Supervising Producer to build on the success of ABC's growing podcast portfolio.

The ideal candidate is a skilled project manager with a track record of successfully leading teams from pitch to publish. This person has superior writing, story editing and audio production skills, and can work and communicate effectively under pressure.
Our new Supervising Producer will join ABC Audio's leadership team to help set the editorial agenda for the podcast unit. This person will be responsible for executing and delegating production needs for multiple projects.

From unorthodox storytelling devices and formats to unexpected marketing campaigns, we're looking for someone with industry experience to help us identify opportunities to experiment and innovate in the podcast space.

Responsibilities:
• Pitching new podcast series, seasons and episodes
• Vetting pitches through greenlight process
• Leading podcast production from start to finish
• Writing scripts for daily, weekly and limited run podcasts
• Editing and mixing audio
• Collaborating with producers and reporters from across ABC News, including the investigative unit, the medical unit and 20/20 to translate their reporting into riveting podcasts
• Coaching podcast hosts in studio
• Working with partners in ABC's rights and clearances, legal and standards departments to vet and clear scripts and outside material
• Coaching and mentoring junior producers

Basic Qualifications:
• At least five years of audio production experience at a professional podcast production house
• Expert audio editing and sound mixing skills
• Journalism background, strong writing skills and a keen interest in current events, history and true crime
• Experience working with talent, including coaching hosts in-studio
• Experience with project and team leadership
• Strong executive communication skills
• Sharp attention to detail and organizational skills, and ability to work and communicate effectively under pressure
• Thorough understanding of the podcast industry, techniques and trends

Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
