Job Description
ABC News is seeking a Senior Editor for Show Integration to join the Digital team.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility for the Senior Editor for Show Integration is to lead cross-platform collaboration and strategy between ABC News Digital and the rest of the news division. This role will manage a team of reporters/editors/producers and their assignments, including editing and writing articles based on broadcast scripts and reporting, transcribing interviews, coordinating the programming of video clips, and working with our social teams to create compelling content for ABC News Digital and promote broadcast initiatives. The Senior Editor for Show Integration will work in collaboration with other Digital seniors on overall editorial coverage, including general assignment coverage as needed.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience handling or leading editorial coverage for a major digital news platform, including breaking news coverage and features/Longform writing, as well as having management experience in a fast-paced newsroom.

The role is based in New York City, and is generally dayside, Monday through Friday, though hours may shift depending on coverage needs. The team is currently working remotely through approximately the end of January.

Additional responsibilities:
• Manage the editing and reporting team in conjunction with the other senior Digital leaders.
• Conduct annual performance reviews for a team of approximate 7 to 8 direct reports, as well as regular check-ins with each team member.
• Be the main point of contact for other shows and platforms for network specials.
• Manage the staffing schedule in coordination with other Digital seniors, approving time off and adjusting staffing for special events.
• Contributes to personnel decisions such as hiring and disciplinary measures.

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years' experience editing for a digital news outlet.
• Ability to write on deadline with speed and accuracy.
• Proven experience handling breaking news.
• Willingness and desire to collaborate across different teams.
• Ability to balance priorities, multiple projects and tasks.
• Brings energy and positivity to the group dynamic.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience running point on major breaking news, preferably for a major digital news operation.
• Minimum 3 years management experience.
• Experience working with broadcast shows.

Required Education
• BA or BS from a 4-year accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
