Senior Broadcast Producer, Nightline

Job Description

Nightline has an opening for a Senior Broadcast Producer who will serve as deputy of ABC News' premier daily news magazine. The senior broadcast producer will be tasked with helping to schedule, program, and run the magazine show and helping to mentor and oversee a team of producers, writers and more. This individual will also work closely with the EP on content decisions as well as news operations to create systems that ensure the effective use of show resources. The senior broadcast producer must be a script doctor, a task juggler, an expert grid builder, and a person that can jump from hard news to politics to pop culture.

Responsibilities:

Candidates should excel at all aspects of producing: pitching daily story ideas, booking experts, arranging shoots, producing in high-pressure environment and scripting. Needs to have strong experience in conceiving, setting up and executing both newsy and creative lifestyle segments. Also needs strong experience and judgement in stacking shows.

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience producing for a show at a large market, cable or network level.
• Demonstrated experience building a rundown, and running assignments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• The ability to independently manage and motivate a team
• Experience in making editorial judgements as well as an overall understanding of long form programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous management of large teams is desirable.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
