Job Description

20/20 has an opening for a COORDINATING PRODUCER. We are looking for someone who is already an experienced longform producer, who is also capable of managing and developing a production team of Field Producers, AP, PAs and interns. The role calls for the ability to make smart hires, compassionately manage, develop talent, and mentor staff forward.

As a leader and producer with 2020, they will be called to approach long-form producing as well as breaking news/quick turns with equal passion. They will also be producing 2020 shows themselves. The ability to balance management and juggle their own production, is essential.

Responsibilities:
• Day-to-day management of diverse team of production members- at various level of skill and work experience. This includes- assigning, guiding, training and trouble shooting.
• Working with the EP and seniors to staff and balance the team on each broadcast- both long-term and crash
• Routinely assessing our producing systems and finding ways to improve and enhance where needed.
• Keeping 2020 forward-focused on the best archival, digital, and field systems.
• The ability and prior experience in fully producing, 2 hour crime-narrative shows.
• Candidates are also expected to foster an inclusive and positive work environment.

Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum 8 years producing long form shows
• An extensive history of mentoring and managing staff
• Ability to be responsive to staffing needs- which may arise outside of normal work week hours
• The ability to work well with and motivate others
• Strong ethical core and sense of community
• Passion for longform storytelling
