Job Description
The Job:The Music Library and Research department works side by side with Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema to archive our ever-growing collection of movie scores. In addition to maintaining the nearly 100 year old archive, we also assist various other divisions of the company by suppling sheet music and audio wherever it is needed.
Our mission is to preserve the rich history as well as prepare for the future in store for this prestigious music catalog.
The Daily:
• Organize/ ''break down'' orchestral parts from various recent film scores for archival purposes
• Scan sheet music and other documents to create digital files for the Music Library database
• Assist in organizing music materials such as audio recordings, music scores, music research materials. Assist with other projects and duties as assign
• Data entry
The Essentials:
• Currently enrolled in coursework at an accredited college/university in pursuit of a degree in music-related field – preferably composition and arranging
• Ability to read sheet music and scores required
• Microsoft Word and Excel usage strongly preferred
• Must be able to juggle multiple tasks and manage /prioritize projects
• Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as work independently
• Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor, especially when dealing with talent &/or executives
• Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully
• Must be able to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions
• Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively
Internship Program:
• Students must be currently enrolled in a college degree program for the full duration of the internship
• Summer 2022 program dates are June 6th - August 12th; must be available for full program duration (additional time frames are available for students in a university quarter system).
• Full-time schedule (40 hours/week)
• Company-issued computer provided for the duration of the internship program.
