INTERNSHIP – Business Development Intern

Location: Toronto, ON

Division: Ticketmaster North America

Line Manager: Vice President, Sales

Contract Terms: Fall Internship Cohort (Sept. – Dec. | 15 weeks), 37.5 hours per week, Hybrid/Flexible

The Client Development team uses flexibility, creative thinking, organizational skills, and relationship building to work with our clients on our products, vision, and industry needs. This team of leaders, strategists and collaborators must always balance the unique best interests of our clients with Live Nation Entertainment's vision and priorities. This team is client first and always ready to have the tough (and easy) conversations! We are part of the North American Client Development organization, working with Ticketmaster's Global Marketplace organization, which sells over 500 million tickets each year across professional and college sports, theatre, arts, and concerts.

THE JOB

The Business Development Intern will focus on learning and understanding about our industry, clients, venues and programs as well as sourcing new business.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Identify Canadian leads and/or venues and new business opportunities that aren't partnered with Ticketmaster and identify which Ticketing provider they currently use;
• Conduct a competitive analysis in Canada and North America;
• Work closely with the Client Development and Sales Enablement teams across North America;
• Assist Canadian Client Development Team with development and implementation of strategies to upsell existing clients on products, programs, or services that drive ticket sales and revenue;
• Complete ad hoc sales operations support as requested;
• Development relationships with key stakeholders across the Canadian and North American teams;
• Assist Client Development Team to maintain company's contact management database (Salesforce) with accurate, up-to-date contact and account details;
• Other duties, as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (TECHNICAL SKILLS)
• Must be enrolled in a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution. Where the student seeks credit for the Internship, their post-secondary program must include a co-op or internship term;
• Minimum 1-2 years' (part time) experience working in a customer facing and/or service role;
• Previous experience in an office environment and/or experience with ticketing, considered an asset;
• In an effort to provide an immersive experience over the 15-week term, we are requiring that the role be hybrid;
• Travel may be required;
• COVID-19 vaccination will be required for this position, subject to legally entitled accommodations.

YOU (BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingualism, French and English, considered an asset);
• Capable working both independently and in team environments, able to foster positive working relationships across all levels of the organization and working styles;
• Self-starter, with a certain degree of creativity and problem-solving ability;
• Strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment;
• Must have excellent organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple priorities in a very fast-paced and evolving environment;
• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail;
• A familiarity with the live entertainment and concert industries considered a ''plus'';
• A passion for live events and desire to learn about the entertainment industry!
